As your doula I help both parents and gestational carriers prepare for the birth.
I’m there every step of the way to support all parties involved. I ensure parents feel a part of every step. Emotional support will be a large component of my role to you. A listening ear, positive reinforcement, and education to help ensure you have all the tools you need to enjoy your new child(ren).

In a surrogacy birth, I help to establish plans for delivery day alongside parents and the surrogate. As your doula, I help to educate all parties on their options and bring up possible scenarios. We also plan and prepare in the case that the birth plan doesn’t go as we have anticipated (which can happen in any birth). Whether your caregiver is a Midwife or OB we want to ensure they are well informed of the preferred birth plan. If a hospital birth, I’m there to help provide you gentle reminders so you’re empowered to inform the staff of your wishes for birth and immediately after.

Also during the journey there will be a time where I have a 1 on 1 with the gestational carrier. During this conversation, the carrier has the opportunity to discuss; her entire journey, in a place she feels safe and comfortable. I am there to support the carrier so she does not feel negative about the experience, but understands the gift she’s giving and feels empowered by it.

As your doula I am there to support both, gestational carrier and parent(s) postnatal. Often due to emotions, exhaustion or other factors, remembering specifics about the labor and delivery the parents may have been too excited or nervous; so I will be taking notes to help complete the birth story. Post birth I discuss with both gestational carrier and parents how they feel. I will add these notes and possible quotes to the birth story as well. I will also help gestational mother with recovery needs and new parents with bonding and feeding.
